Nicolas J. Evanoff (age 45), Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Mr. Evanoff  has been the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of the Company since September 2007.   Prior to joining Frontera, he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Transmeridian Exploration Incorporated, an independent oil and gas producer active in the Caspian Sea region, since January 2006.    During 2005, he was engaged in the private practice of law as a solo practitioner and with Phillips & Reiter PLLC, during which time he served as outside general counsel to Transmeridian. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Evanoff was employed by Pride International Inc., an international oilfield services provider and drilling contractor, as Vice President–Corporate & Governmental Affairs.  Prior to joining Pride, he served as Associate General Counsel and then as General Counsel, Asia & Middle East, of  Transocean Inc., an international offshore drilling contractor, from 1997 to 2002.  Mr. Evanoff began his legal career with Baker Botts L.L.P. in Houston, Texas, where he practiced corporate and securities law.   He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, and studied law at the University of Kiel in Germany under a Fulbright Grant.  Mr. Evanoff is a member of the board of directors of the Houston World Affairs Council.
